Interview By Eetu "Ene" Niskanen

Interview with Mya, the lead vocals of the Croatian industrial metal band Omega Lithium. Enjoy it!
Firstly, congratulations for the deal with Drakkar, did it took long to get it?
Thank you. Well, we had already finished the album but we haven't signed with any record label. We had some offers and negotions but none of them were serious enough until Drakkar Entertainment came and made a serious offer.
You are about to release your debut album ''Dreams In Formaline'' later this year, how much work did it take to get it ready for release?
The pre-production started even around September 2008, but we entered the studio in October and finished it just around May this year. It was a long production of two months, all mixing included. We extended it a bit too much but we took our time to make it as we wanted to be.
Could you tell us something about your bandmates?
We are all like one family. They are really great guys. But men are men, and it's not easy being on tour with them.
Have you had any vocal training?
I have to admit that I didn't took any vocal trainings yet, but I am planning to in the near future. I think it would be good to improve my voice as much as I can do.
What is your personal favourite song from your debut?
I think that all songs are great, and every one of them has a great story behind it, but my personal favorite is maybe the title track because it has a stong message and concept behind the name. Besides that one, my other favorite is Hollow March, it is a very energetic song.

You also released your video for ''Stigmata'' quite some time ago, what do you think about it?
We made good job with the video and worked with great people. We wanted to create a good visual story that would describe what we ment with the lyrics and I think that our fans loved it.
What kind of music do you listen yourself and how often?
Music is a big part of my life, I listen to it every day and in some way I could say that I'm addicted. For me, music is a perfect way for expressing your inner thoughts and feelings. Bands that I listen to most of the time are Depeche Mode, Paradise Lost, Apocalyptica,Type O Negative and Soilwork.
Who are your biggest influences?
I couldn't say that I actually have some special influences, but all artist that made their success by trying and giving on everything for creating music are some kind of idols.
There are lots of female fronted metal bands out there, how does Omega Lithium keep unique?
By creating distinct sound and style. We are not a typical female fronted band, and not even a typical gothic metal. We are industrial, metal band with some gothic elements.
What are your plans for the future?
Creating music of course, and having a great time with Omega Lithium. We gave so much for this, and we are not giving up.
